Well now that I have updated my pointing device settings to enable multitouch gestures on my laptop¹, I have noticed that the settings don’t save when I logout or reboot. A bit of research and I see that this is a pretty common issues for Redhat users ²³, and it is not so much that they are not saved, but they are not applied.

So even though I don’t like hacking my xorg.conf file… I’m back at it to make the changes persistent as noted here⁴ but this is missing some important pieces since it is out of date, so going to the trusting thinkwiki.org site there is some more update to date information here⁵.
